Ok so I didn't get to blog yesterday so I am catching up on day 7 of toilet training... The girls were doing good yesterday morning. They still won't go to the potty without me but come to tell me. Criton is more difficult. I think it is definitely going to take a little longer for him to get the hang of it. His big thing seems to be distractions. If he is playing hard, watching something, or other people (like Dad) are around he doesn't do as well. I have had a couple of times where he comes to me to go potty but I still mostly catch him when he starts a little. Read more: Toilet Training Triplets: Day 7
Ok so today is day 6 of potty training our 19 month old triplets. I went to bed last night and woke up this morning thinking we were going to try this "one day potty training" method. I read all about it yesterday and though we might give it a shot. The first part starts with a doll. My kids had absolutely zero interest in the doll. I suppose they are just too young for that method (or being 3 it just was too much) although some people did claim to have success around 20 months. Read more: Potty Training Triplets: Day 6
Here are a couple of pictures of our 19 month old triplets on their first day potty training! (A little late but we got them up!) Read more: Potty Training Pictures
I'm on day 5 of potty training our 19 month old triplets. Is it easy? No way! It is really hard and the mess is unbelievable but I see improvements everyday, so I know we are doing the right thing. I wish it was over but I know it is a long road but a great reward at the end. The one thing I wish is that I knew what our parents did (exactly). Read more: Potty Training: Day five (morning)
I didn't get a chance to blog over the weekend so here is our potty training update for days2-4. We are mainly letting the kids go bare bottom during the day. We do underwear a little but makes it hard to get them down quickly enough when they start to go. Day 2 (Sat): Everyone went pee in the potty once. Now when I say this it means they started to pee on the floor, we grabbed them, put them on the potty and they finished. Sometimes we would get there too late and they would be done, or when they got off the potty there wasn't much there. Now some people would say this is a fail... not true. Potty training triplets. Day one: Ok, so we got up this morning, changed into just t-shirts (barebottom) and sat on our potties. No one did anything and they seemed a little confused as to what mom was doing. Haley was perfectly fine with running around half naked. Happy as could be. Caitlin and Criton took a little more time to get used to it. Caitlin was my first accident, and she was not happy about it. She looked down at her legs and started crying as I picked her up and rushed her to the potty chair. She didn't pee anymore but she sat there without issues. I cleaned her up after a few mins and sent her on her way. Read more: Potty Training: Day One
Today has been a good day. The kids got up around 6:45am and were in a really good mood. We drove sister to school, came home and played. We danced to all the Gummy Bear songs (you can find them on youtube by looking up "the gummy bear song), watched Rio, had a great lunch of peanut butter and jelly with strawberries and peaches, played tag, and talked more about potting. I had to do some running last night which left Michael alone with the kids. When I got back he said he thought the kids were ready for potty training. Read more: Days like this
Ok, so we went and purchased the toddler potties last night. 2 froggy potties and 1 dino potty (they only had pink froggy potties and Michael was not down with that lol). The kids found them entertaining to sit on, drag around, and take apart. I suppose this is good and bad (as far as the playing with them). Potty training here we come! I think this is more stressful right now for Michael then me, surprisingly. I know it is going to be messy, I am sure tears (mine) will be involved, and it is going to be a lot of work, but if it goes well we will be done with this hurdle. Potty training at 19 months? Some of you might say I have lost my mind. Perhaps I have, but after our doctor visit yesterday and talking with some other moms, I think we are going to try it. They show some interest and have some other signs (like being mostly dry after naps and in the morning and staying dry for longer periods of time.) Read more: Potty Training
The triplets had their 18 month doctor appointment today (even though they just turned 19 months)... It would be my luck that Haley had a rough morning before the appointment. She has been up, off and on, since about 4am which made for a very tired and cranky baby. Not a good combination with a doctors visit. They hate going there, and it is complete mayhem from the time they hit the scale until they are leaving. They scream, cry, and have literal meltdowns. Read more: 18 Month old Stats
